Volunteering is a great way to contribute to your community and learn more about what we do at the YWCA Greater Green Bay. Contact Member Services at 920-432-5581 for more information.

YWCA Child Care

Our Child Care center offers state licensed care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in a family-like atmosphere. The YWCA believes that a child’s early years play a critical part in his or her overall development. Daily lessons are carefully planned to provide an environment for children to develop and learn through creative play, age-appropriate materials, and teacher support and guidance. Volunteers assist YWCA teachers in a variety of capacities, as well as provide enrichment for the participants.

Aquatics and Health & Fitness

Our fitness area contributes to the well being of YWCA members by leading them through physical and mental exercises in a variety of fitness classes. This can include swimming, yoga, aerobic exercise, and youth programs including dance, gymnastics and Tae Kwon Do. Do you have experience in teaching fitness classes? Volunteer or apply for paid positions today and help our members build body, mind and spirit.

Special Events, Programs, and Initiatives

Volunteers play a significant role in the success of YWCA’s unique and informative special events, programs, and initiatives. Opportunities can include participating on an event planning committee, assisting with administrative and promotional duties, or participating the day of an event with registration, set up and take down.

Women’s Empowerment Center

Established in 2013, the YWCA Women’s Empowerment Center seeks to empower women of all economic and ethnic backgrounds by helping them find sustainable employment. It seeks to have women thrive in the workplace through successfully building life skills. Women have the opportunity to connect with existing community services including technical training, computer literacy, financial understanding, resume development, interviewing skills, counseling and mental health services, and dressing for success.

In addition, tailored mentoring services are available to help women interact with other local successful women. These life coaching sessions engage women in conversation about what it takes to succeed and advance in their career field. By partnering with local agencies, the YWCA can help women navigate the maze of opportunities available within the Green Bay area. All of the Women’s Empowerment Center services are available free of charge and can be used to receive credit for required W-2 hours approved through the WI Job Center. There are a multitude of volunteer opportunities from helping in our Women’s Career Closet, Madison Street Boutique, or with other empowerment programs. Volunteers can work behind the scenes or directly with the customers we serve.

Youth Programs

The YWCA offers a variety of programs for children ages 5 to 12. Our school age programs provide learning through play opportunities, homework help, service learning projects, gross motor play in our gym or at nearby parks, on-site weekly swimming lessons, field trips, STEM/STEAM activities and more. Volunteers have the opportunity to provide enrichment for the participants by leading a class in the YWCA TechGYRLS program or assisting teachers and instructors in one of the other YWCA youth programs.
