Until Justice Just Is centers the racial justice work that the vast network of YWCA Local Associations carry out in communities across the country. This year the campaign’s theme is Building Bridges to Equity and will be based on the topics for the 2024 YWCA Racial Justice Challenge; Bodily Autonomy, Women's Financial Empowerment/Caregiving, Gun Violence and Transportation.

Game of Equity

The Classic Up and Down Game About Transportation!

Each spring we create a life size interactive board game in Jackson Square Park. Participants are invited to walk through the park, play the game, and learn about race and gender equity. In 2024, we are playing Game of Equity; Chutes and Ladders.

This year's Game of Equity is a riff on the classic up and down game for children. It is a fun and active way to learn about how transportation access and infrastructure divides us and how we can use transportation to build a better, more just future! Through players' choices and circumstances, each will take a unique journey through the park. Who in your group will make it to the end first and who will stumble into a chute?

Thursday/Friday: 10am-6pm Saturday:10am-1pm

Information and instructions are provided through QR codes, so players should bring smart devices with QR code reading capabilities to play.

Leaders are Readers

Reading to children at a young age enriches their understanding of the world around them, enhances cognitive development, and helps them gain the language they need to express themselves. By reading to our children, we prepare them for future success, while building a foundation of empathy for others. Each week during Until Justice Just Is, a community leader will volunteer time reading to our childcare students. Everyone is invited to attend each reading virtually via Facebook livestream – follow us on Facebook to read along as we choose books on Kindness with a justice lens.

Racial Justice Challenge

April 2024

Diving Deep into all Things Racial Justice

The challenge includes daily materials around racial justice topics. Each day includes written articles, videos, and spoken materials, and you can engage with all or choose which is best for you. Materials come from a variety of sources including PBS, bicycling.com, Teen Vogue, and TED talks, but everything is in plain, informal language that doesn't require a degree in sociology to understand. The challenge is also fully available in Spanish.

Here at YWCA Greater Green Bay, we are also supporting our community members through the challenge with optional weekly discussion groups to connect with other local folks participating in the challenge. These discussion groups will be Fridays at noon via Microsoft Teams. They are completely optional, and participants are welcome to drop in at any time during the discussion. Invitations to the Friday discussions will be sent out to those who register through our registration page. Additionally, if you have a group of folks who would like to take the challenge together, please contact us about supports we can offer your group.

The Racial Justice Challenge is an excellent opportunity to dig deep in understanding the way that race and gender shape our everyday lives and the ways we have both shared and different experiences. – Register to take the challenge.
