There are numerous agencies, businesses and individuals working to end racism in Brown county. This installment of Where We Live will provide insight into a variety of community studies and efforts to address the disparate impact of racism in the lives of members of the greater Green Bay community, and share local efforts working to lay a foundation for change.

Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr. | Founder & CEO | The Privilege Institute

Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr. has pursued and achieved success in academia, business, diversity, leadership and community service. In 1996, he started America & MOORE, LLC to provide comprehensive diversity, privilege and leadership trainings and workshops. Unpacking numerous ways that language has been used to create prejudice, discrimination and antagonism against people of a different race or ethnicity.

Jenni Oliver | Director of Operations and Social Equity Advancement | The Privilege Institute

Jenni Oliver (She/her/hers) has over seventeen years of results driven leadership and project management skills. Recognized by Kenexa as a “culture leader,” Jenni has managed highly engaged, diverse teams within a Fortune 50 Company and also in Higher Education. Jenni has a passion and success for advancing diversity and inclusion strategies, equitable policy development, and creating safe spaces for crucial conversations. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources (Concordia University Wisconsin) and an Associates degree in Leadership Development (NWTC). Jenni also studied “Leadership & Service Excellence” at the Disney Institute, DisneyWorld and Irish Culture, Communications & Humanities at Waterford Institute of Technology, Waterford, Ireland.

As a Green Bay native, Jenni serves on several boards in the community, including the Brown County MLK Committee, Green Bay Society of Human Resources (SHRM) Diversity & Inclusion team. In 2017, Jenni partnered to become a founding co-chair of GLSEN-Green Bay, working to create safe and inclusive K-12 schools, for all students. After completing a term of service with AmeriCorps, Jenni stepped in as Interim Assistant Director of the Cassandra Voss Center at St. Norbert College. During this time she worked diligently to bring the first ever White Privilege Symposium (WPSSNC) to Wisconsin, before joining TPI full time.

Andrea Huggenvik | Social Justice Program Specialist | YWCA Greater Green Bay

Andrea Huggenvik is the Social Justice Programs Specialist at the YWCA.  She is a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (an internationally renowned assessment instrument that assesses a person’s mindset related to culture.)  She has formal training in psychology and student development.  She has worked in student affairs at schools across the United States in coaching and student development roles.  After ten years, she left student affairs to take on a role in workforce development providing customized training and consultation to businesses across northern Wisconsin.  Her approach to diversity and inclusion work combines these skills to create effective, science-backed, developmental trainings that work for businesses and organizations.
