Madison Street Boutique

The Madison Street Boutique at the YWCA . . .

Look good, do good, feel good!

What is the Madison Street Boutique at the YWCA?

The new Madison Street Boutique at the YWCA opened in May 2017 as a complement to the existing Women’s Career Closet. The Boutique features new and gently used brand-name clothing and accessories, along with swimwear, athletic wear, and special occasion apparel for a suggested donation per item.

Where does the merchandise come from?

The Boutique, along with our free Women’s Career Closet, is stocked with clothing and accessories—much of it new—donated by individuals, organizations, and area businesses. Volunteers sort through clothing donations weekly. Most items are placed in the free Women’s Career Closet, while other merchandise is deemed better suited for the Boutique, e.g. special occasion apparel and select high-fashion items.

Can anyone shop the Boutique, or do I have to be a YWCA member?
The Boutique is open to the public, and visits are unlimited (10 items/visit and one handbag/week).
What is the price range for Boutique items?
Boutique merchandise is available for a suggested minimum donation per item. Most items are in the $3.00—$5.00 range, with a few items at $10.00 and most accessories available for a $2.00 donation.
Can I pay for my selections with a check or credit card?
Transactions are cash only. There is a no-fee ATM at a nearby Shell Station, 510 S. Monroe Avenue.
Where is the Madison Street Boutique located?
The Boutique is located in the Women’s Empowerment Center on the 2nd floor of the YWCA. Park in the YWCA parking lot (corner of Stuart & Madison) and take the Stuart Street elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor.
What are the Madison Street Boutique hours?
Tuesdays Noon—4 pm Wednesdays 2—5 pm Thursdays 3—7 pm
The YWCA is closed on all major holidays. The Madison Street Boutique and the Women’s Career Closet are also closed the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and for two weeks over the Christmas holiday season.
How are the monetary donations used?
All revenue from the Madison Street Boutique is reinvested into the Women’s Empowerment Center, helping to ensure that the free Women’s Career Closet, along with other programs such as RENEW life coaching, career coaching, and our Children First Family Literacy GED program, will continue serving area women for decades to come. Note that select high-end fashion items are also consigned at the Ultimate Closet in Allouez, where proceeds from item sales are donated to the Women’s Empowerment Center.
When can I drop off donations for the Boutique or the Women’s Career Closet?

Donations may be dropped off at the Member Services desk anytime the YWCA is open (Mon—Thu 5 am—8 pm, Fri 5 am—6 pm, Sat 7 am—1 pm). Receipts are provided.
