Lifeguard Training

               

Lifeguard training is a great skill to have. In order to successfully pass this course, you will need to pass a practical and written test with 80% or better.

Certifications include:

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
  • First Aid
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer
  • AED 

This class does require passing some prerequisite water skills prior to entry.

  • Swim 300 yards continuously using these strikes in the following order: 100 yards front crawl using rhythmic breathing, 100 yards breaststroke using correct kick, pull, glide form, 100 yards either front crawl or breaststroke or a combination of the 2 strokes. 
  • Swim 20 yards using front drawl or breaststroke, surface dive to 9ft, retrieve a 10lb brick, swim 20 yards to starting point with object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps in 1min 40sec
  • 2min tread water without hand.

Prescreening will be held the first day of the class. Participants will be refunded the cost of the class if they do not pass the prerequisites. Participants should bring an ID to verify age the first day of the class. You must be at least 15 years of age to take this course.
